Yes, I am riding a tree frog.
Over Spring Break, we took a four day excursion that included days at LegoLand, the San Diego Wild Animal Park (where I rode the aforementioned tree frog), and Knott’s Berry Farm. It was a crazy trip, and a whole heck of a lot of driving, but we all had a blast. It had been a few years since we had all gone together to an amusement park, and I think my kids are at that perfect age.
We didn’t play any of the games I brought along because we were either too tired or in the pool when we weren’t at an amusement park. I did manage to pick up a copy of Make N Break at a specialty shop while we were at an outlet mall in Carlsbad. It’s a great game!
My son rode his first honest roller coaster, held up a train, made it through a ride that scared me half to death when I was a kid, learned a native American dance, and consumed at least three pounds of french fries. My wife was a trooper. I think she was the most excited by the beautiful dress she got at the BCBG outlet and the peanut-butter chocolate shake she had at a Ruby’s. My daughter went roller coaster crazy now that she’s tall enough to ride everything, and took me along with her. I didn’t argue.
It was a fabulous time and I would repeat the trip in a heartbeat.
