The blogosphere is up in arms against Quechup.com, a social networking site that has been sending invitations through contact lists without the permission of the user. I was unaware that this kind of thing could happen, and I have recently sent a bunch of apologetic emails to all my contacts. Apparently, Quechup has been around for a little while but has only recently started using this kind of viral email marketing.
According to Mashable, Quechup is not the only site that does this. Twitter also imports the users contact list without notification. After reading the comment discussion at boingboing.net, I now realize just how many of these sites that there are out there. I just amazes me.
Not only that, but Quechup is a stupid name.
