Game Carnival – August 8, 2007

Welcome to the Third edition of Game Carnival!

The game carnival is happy to present game and gaming related posts from all over the blogosphere. Brought to you directly to be enjoyed with food on a stick and an overpriced drink. Please watch your belongings as you enter the tilt-o-whirl and remember, the house of mirrors is not recommended for individuals with low self-esteem.

GAMES

Yehuda Berlinger presents Games Are Not Supposed To Be Fun posted at Yehuda. Once you read this thought provoking post, be sure and check the comments left by the readers.

Alec Bings presents The Ultimate Search for Bourne: A new genre of game? – Castle in the Air posted at Castle in the Air, saying, “Thoughts about ARGs (alternate reality games) in the context of the Ultimate Search for Bourne promotion.” Great ideas, but be careful if you are a conspiracy fanatic, you will see patterns within patterns within patterns.

gameguy presents How Do You Learn to Play a Game? posted at play2relax. Do you have a particular learning style when it comes to gaming?

Card Games

Michelle Mitchell presents President and Scum: The World’s Most Addicting Card Game posted at scribbit | A Blog About Motherhood in Alaska. I loved this for many reasons, which include a witty writing style and a Monty Python reference. I need to try this game.

Video Games

Jigsaw hc presents WeeWar.com Review posted at Jigsaw hc’s Rants & Reviews. Review of an interesting turn-based multi-player online strategy game currently in development.

The Free Geek presents How to: Build a Great Gaming Rig on the Cheap posted at Free Geekery. This was of particular interest to me, since I’m considering building my next computer.

Mike Blitz presents Final Fantasy III DS Game Review posted at Final Fantasy: Lost in Japanese. This is a well written review on part of an iconic game series.

Alexei presents Ban People In Videogames posted at Refried Screens. Do people belong in video games at all? Only Tron knows.

That concludes this third edition of the game carnival. I’m happy that we continue to get a broad range of posts on a variety of gaming genres. Please feel free to submit an article about gaming, card games, board games, or video games for our August 22, 2007 edition, which will be hosted by Yehuda.
